Morpheus is the son of Hypnos and hence one of the Oneroi, the 1000 children of Hypnos which include the named trio of Morpheus, the bringer and shaper of dreams to humans, Phobetor, who appears to and as beasts and Phantasos who appears as inanimate objects.
